Fault Properties: Horizon/Fault Contacts

This page controls the appearance of horizon/fault contacts on the Basemap. A contact will only be drawn for a fault when the horizon it intersects is being displayed. If there is only one contact point between the fault and horizon, the horizon/fault contact will draw as a circle. If there are multiple horizon/fault contacts, they will be drawn as an arrow head pointing in the dip direction of the fault segment.

Enable Contacts

Show picked contacts:Displays picked contacts. A picked contact is created by the user by picking a horizon up to the fault, or by drawing a fault across a horizon.

Show generated contacts:Displays generated contacts. Generated contacts can be created by using the Fault Polygons/Contacts application.

Contact Parameters

Use color scaling:When unchecked, contacts are drawn using the color of the fault. If checked, then the Z-value at which the contact occurs will be used with the current colorbar to determine the color used.

Symbol Size:Specifies the size of the contact marker. Fixed sized contacts will remain the same size regardless of the map scale, whereas variable size contacts will change size as the map scale changes.

Line Width:Set the thickness of the line used to draw the contact.
